摘　　要：转喻思维能力是人们认知状况发展的一种产物。转喻思维能力是人们在现实世界实践中不断积累和培养出来的一种潜在意识和能力。实践证明,转喻思维能力对成人英语词汇、写作与阅读教学有重要的启示意义。Metonymic thinking competence is a product in the process of human being＇s cognition development.It is a kind of consciousness and ability which is accumulated and cultivated in the practical life in the real world.It has proved that metonymic thinking competence is of great importance to the vocabulary,writing and reading teaching of adult English.
