摘　　要：江阴16镇吴语近20年间由存古的阴阳八调变为七调或六调,声母清浊对立等吴语典型特征也在加速消退。江阴吴语急剧变化的动因是根源于语言正评价的、增幅逐年加大的普通话使用频度。In the last 20 years, the Wu（吴） dialect in the 16 towns of Jiangyin has changed dramatically. The number of tones has decreased from a full set of 8 to 7 or even 6; the contrast of voiced and unvoiced consonants, which is one of the typical characteristics of Wu（吴） dialect, has also been diminishing increasingly. The motivation for the sharp change observed in the Jiangyin（江阴） dialect could be attributed to the expanding using frequency of Standard Chinese （Putonghua） which has a positive language assessment in the people of Jiangyin（江阴）.
