摘　　要：《中国差报与广州钞报》是美国商人威廉·伍德于1831年7月28日在广州创办的一份英文报纸,成为美国人在华创办的第一份报纸。本文利用哈佛—燕京社图书馆的第一手资料对国内已经散佚无存的《中国差报与广州钞报》进行了研究,介绍了该报的创办情况、1832年4月改版、内容变化、编排特色、停刊原因、历史影响和地位,揭示出美国在华新闻事业开端时期的基本概况。Chinese Courier and Canton Gazette,found in Canton in July 28^(th),1831,by William W.Wood,was the first Newspaper Which found by American.Based on the data come from Harvard-Yenching Institute Library,this study concerns about the issues of the above newspaper including its establishment,its revision in 1832,content evolution,editing features, discontinued reasons,and its historical position.
