摘　　要：狄更斯的象征手法摇曳多姿 ,使其作品产生了诗的效果。贯穿性象征使作品所要表达的人性、人情内容实现了诗化 ;中心象征直射小说的主题 ,更加体现了诗的特质———依靠象征去追求蕴含性 ;场景象征如诗一般 ,寓意于境 ,达到情、理、景三者交融的境地 ;神话原型象征所产生的神话的诗的世界给人有众多的联想空间。Colourful and diversified, Dicken's symbols help to produce the poetic effect in his novels. Recurrent symbol gains the poetic effect to the social contents about human feelings and human nature. Central symbol embodies the theme of the novel and gives full expression to the characteristic of poetry-to seek for the rich implication beyond symbol itself, which is the soul of poetry. Enviromental symbol is filled with philosophy and emotion. Creating a mythic poetic world, mythic archetypal symbol leaves much room to imagination.
