ObjectiveTo observe the pancreatic function ,the numbers and affinity of insulin receptors in erythrocytes in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus . MethodsInsulin receptors in erythrocytes were studied by receptor radio-analysis in the control group, type 2 diabetes obesity and non-obesity groups. The levels of insulin were detected by radio-immunity in the three groups. ResultsThe numbers of insulin receptors in type 2 diabetes obesity group were significantly decreased compared with non-obesity and the control, there were no difference by comparing type 2 diabetes non- obesity group with the control. The affinity showed no difference among the three groups. The time of insulin peaks in type 2 diabetes obesity or non-obesity groups was delayed and the peaks were lower, the peaks in non-obesity group were significantly decreased especially.ConclusionThe results demonstrated type 2 diabetes obesity or non-obesity all existed pancreatic β cells abnormal insulin reaction, the function of pancreas were injured significantly in type 2 diabetes non-obesity. The reduced numbers of insulin receptors in erythrocytes might be one of the causes in insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes obesity.
