摘　　要：《勇敢者》是尼古拉斯·埃文斯2010年又一部感动大众的新作。本文试图从主人公自身以及周围环境对人的性格的影响去解说和剖析"勇敢"的真正含义,并为我们在百态的人际关系中,提供健康、豁达以及和谐的思维结构。《勇敢者》这部小说将过去和当下作为叙事空间,采用经典独特的"双线叙事"技巧,主人公汤姆在纷繁的人际关系和环境中不断成长变化,最后用尽半生思考才领略了勇敢的真正含义,并和儿子融合于朴实无华的父子亲情之中,达到了人际关系的和谐与宁静。本文将重点从汤姆与其自身,与他人,与社会的关系中,探求出"勇敢"的真正含义,以揭示出缔造和谐人际关系的要义。The Brave is another touching book written by Nicholas Evans in 2010. In this paper, the author tries to explain and explore the real meaning of 'the brave' based on the protagonist Tom himself and influence upon his character imposed by the environment around him, thus to find out a healthy, open-minded and harmonious way of thinking for us to deal with the complicated interpersonal relationship. The brave sets the past and present as the narrative space, using the 'double-line' narrating method to narrate the adolescence and transformation of Tom, but, it takes him half a lifetime to realize the real meaning of bravery and eventually restore the sincere relationship with his son, which achieve the state of harmony and peace in interpersonal relationship. By focusing on the relationship between Tom and himself, Tom and other person, and Tom with the outer society, the author intends to dig out the real meaning of bravery, and to reveal significance of establishing harmonious interpersonal relationship.
