摘　　要：虚拟现实(Virtual Reality,VR)技术作为数字城市的支撑技术之一,对城市规划具有重要意义.从虚拟现实的概念出发,论述了虚拟现实的3个基本特征及其技术系统的构成,分析了虚拟现实技术应用于城市规划的优势,介绍了虚拟现实技术在城市规划中的关键技术,并以珠江新城为例,探讨了虚拟现实技术应用于城市规划的实施步骤,最后还针对珠江新城虚拟现实系统进行了评价,同时提出了关于VR技术应用于城市规划的几点不足.As one of the supporting technologies of the digital city, the virtual reality technology shows great significance to the urban planning. Embarking from the concept of virtual reality, the dissertation elaborate three essential features and the technical system constitutions of virtual reality, and it analyzes the key technologies and the superiority of the application of VR technology in the urban planning. Taking the Pearl River new town as the example, it discuss the implementation step of VR technology applied in the urban planning. Finally, it appraises the virtual reality system of Pearl River new town, and proposes several insufficient spots on the application of VR technology in urban planning.
