摘　　要：1986年镇江被批准为国家历史文化名城,本文以镇江市图书馆为例,对其26年来参与镇江名城保护与发展的工作进行回顾,继而深入探讨公共图书馆如何更好地为名城保护和发展服务。Zhenjiang was approved as the national famous historical and cultural city in 1986, taking zhen- jiang city library as an example, the paper introduced the working in protection and development in the past 26 years, and then diseussed the public library how to better serve for city protection and develop- ment.
