摘　　要：麦克尤恩的首部长篇小说《水泥花园》讲述了发生在4个孩子身上的变态的恐怖故事。麦克尤恩在书中详细阐释了"水泥花园"的建构过程及目标指向,使"水泥花园"成为贯穿全书的重要意象。麦克尤恩通过该意象表达了他对当代都市文化的认知和对人的生存状态及当代社会的多重困境的深刻思考。文章从"水泥花园"的建构过程、"水泥花园"中的生存境遇及其本质内涵入手,对"水泥花园"所蕴含的都市文化批判思想进行探究,旨在精确而深入地把握麦克尤恩的思想精髓及其作品中的都市文化批判意义。McEwan＇ s first novel, Cement Garden, tells the horrible and morbid stories of four kids. In this novel, McEwen detailedly states the construction process and the target point of ＂cement garden＂, so that the ＂cement garden＂ has become an important image throughout the book. By presenting this image, McEwen unfolds his ideas of contemporary urban culture, human existence and the plights of contemporary society. Through analyzing the construction of ＂cement garden＂ , the existing condition in it and its essential significance, this paper aims to explore the theme of urban cultural criticism in this novel, and then grasp the essence of the McEwan＇ s idea and the urban cultural criticism in his work.
