摘　　要："世界史纵横发展"理论不仅对当前复杂多变的世界历史作出合理、系统、完整的解释,而且正确地回答了现代世界发展普遍存在的疑惑,并大体准确预测了未来的历史发展趋势。这一理论以马克思主义历史唯物论为指导,充分集中了我国改革开放以来世界史学科老中青几代学人的集体智慧,是具有中国特色的世界史学科重大理论。The theory of ＂The Vertical and Horizontal Development of World History＂ has not only explained reasonably, systematically and completely the current complex and volatile world history but answered correctly widespread doubts in the development of modem world, and generally predicted accurately the future history trends. It is a major theory for the world history as a subject with Chinese characteristics which guided by the historical materialism of Marxism, and reflected fully the collective wisdom of China＇s several generation scholars in this discipline since the reform and opening up period.
