摘　　要：文章以现代化的视野试图从源头上弄清中国图书馆的起源、从文化上甄别中外图书馆的实质,以便我们在图书馆现代化的理论和实践层面,坚持和发扬传统,学习吸收西方先进的图书馆理念和服务,选择一条中国图书馆现代化的途径,共同推动中国图书馆的现代化进程。This article tries to figure out the origin of the Chinese library through a modernization vision, and discriminate the essence of Chinese and foreign libraries from the cultural perspective, so that we could ,on the library modem theoretical and practical level,persist on and carry forward the tradition, and learn to absorb western advanced library philosophy and services, choose a modern road for Chinese libraries to promote the process of modernization jointly.
