摘　　要：文章介绍了科技查新与社科查新工作的概况,分析了两者的共通性,然后从查新的内容、地域范围、信息资源、年限范围、评价指标等五个方面重点探讨了两者的差异性。最后指出查新机构必须在借鉴科技查新理论与方法的基础上大胆实践,探索出一套符合社科研究规律及其成果特点的可操作性的查新方法,为社科查新体系的建立与完善作出贡献。This paper introduces the sci-tech and social science novelty search, then analyzes their commonalities and differences. Suggestions are that novelty search institutions must practice boldly by learning the theory and methods from sci-tech novelty search, and explore a set of operational meth- ods which are [rt accordance with the characteristics of social science research, in order to contribute to the construction and consummation of the social science novelty search system.
