摘 要:碳排放已经成为全球关注的重点问题。许多国家都致力于减少重点领域的碳排放。在世界范围内,钢铁行业对工业能源消耗量和二氧化碳排放量都有重大影响。随着能源价格的不断上涨,政府减少碳排放的决心和力度不断加大,因此,减少固体能耗成了钢铁厂的首要任务。钢铁工业现有能源中固体燃料最贵,但又必不可少。通过技术创新和固体燃料加工工艺优化,可以实现碳减排的目标。印度钢铁管理局是印度钢铁行业的主要成员之一,极力倡导碳减排持续优化钢铁生产工艺,通过各种具体措施来达到其减排效果。烧结工序采用焦炭作为固体燃料,将精矿粉烧结成块状物料,以改善高炉性能。比莱钢厂3号烧结厂是一个新建工厂,如何减少烧结生产中的焦炭消耗对它是个严峻的挑战。比莱钢铁厂通过采用新型原料加工处理设备,改变标准化操作规程分析烧结生产中不同焦炭破碎强度指标,改进过程自动化控制软件等措施,严格控制碳排放,从而使焦炭消耗量从2002年的91kg/t减少到2009—2010年的59kg/t。烧结生产中焦炭消耗量的减少意味着二氧化碳排放的减少,3号烧结厂致力于成为钢铁行业能源利用和碳减排的标杆企业。如何通过各种创新手段,达到减少固体燃料消耗,改善钢铁行业生产环境的目标,即通过钢铁行业的碳减排,来减少全球范围内的碳减排,是本文的宗旨。Carbon emission is a major concern for whole world. Countries are trying to reduce carbon consumption in all major areas. The Iron and Steel Sector plays an important role in global industrial energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Because of the dynamic growth of energy prices and the commitment of governments to decrease CO2 emissions, the reduction of specific energy consumption is a top priority for steel companies. The solid fuel being one of the costliest and inevitable component of energy in steel industry, optimising its consumption through innovative technologies in its handling and processing definately leads to CO2 reduction. Steel Authority of India Limited, India one of the major industries in steel making encourages activities for optimizing fuel consumption by continual improvements in the steel making processes. Sinter making is agglomeration of ore fines to increase Blast Furnace performance. It requires coke as solid fuel to agglomerate fines. Sintering Plant-3 of Bhilai Steel Plant, SAIL is a new plant which faced tough challenges in optimizing the coke consumption in sinter making. It has been able to reduce coke consumption from 91 kg/t of sinter in 2002 to 59 kg/t of sinter in 2009--2010 through various innovations in material handling & processing equipments, by changing process SOPs, by experimenting & analyzing the effect of different Coke Crushing Index norms on sintering process and by modifying process automation software to have a rigid control over emissiontarget. The reduction in coke breeze consumption in sinter making will directly amount to the equivalent CO2 reduction, Sintering Plant-3 targets to achieve the world benchmark in energy efficiency and CO2 Reduction in the Steel Industry. The author has elaborated upon the journey of reduction in solid fuel consumption through variousinnovations in line with the aim of the steel industry' s new approach to climate change i. e. Global imlarovement in carbon dioxide emissions for every unit of steel nroduced.
