脂批“獄神庙”非“嶽神庙”辨  

Discrimination on Zhi Yanzhai's Comments that "The Temple of Prison God" Is Not "The Temple of Five Sacred Mountains God"

摘　　要：《石头记》庚辰本第二十回朱笔眉批中的"獄神庙",并非庚辰本抄写者对底本中"嶽神庙"的误认、误写或简写,不能把脂批"獄神庙"误认作"嶽神庙",也不能将其等同于"天齐庙"、"东嶽庙"。獄神庙是遍布于全国各级各类监狱中的人间庙宇,与天齐庙里的冥府职司"地狱七十二司"同样不能混为一谈。＂The Temple of Prison God＂ that appears in the red head note of the twentieth chapter of Geng Chen＇ s Version of The Stone Tale is not the wrong recognition, spelling or abbreviation of ＂The Temple of Five Sacred Mountains GOd＂ in the original version by the copier. ＂The Temple of Prison God＂ in the comments by Zhi Yanzhai should neither be considered as ＂The Temple of Five Sacred Mountains God＂ by mistake, nor equa- ted to ＂The Temple of Tianqi God＂ or ＂The Temple of Dongyue GOd＂. The Temple of Prison God is the temples in the secular world that exist in all kinds of prisons all over the country, which should never be treated the same as the ＂72 Secretaries in Hell＂ of the underworld department appeared in The Temple of Tianqi God.
