摘　　要：《论美国的民主》是法国学者托克维尔的主要代表作,其中蕴含着丰富的社会学理论。主要体现在政治社会学和社会学方法论上。典型的社会学问题如乡镇生活与民主制度、民主国家与市民社会、民主制度与市民个体的关系在本书中皆有精彩论述。托克维尔对社会学方法论的贡献也相当巨大,他所强调的访谈法和比较研究法在今天的社会学研究领域仍然被广泛使用,因此,应当正视托克维尔在社会学领域的贡献。Democracy in America is one of the master works of the French scholar Tocqueville, which contains abundant socio- logical theories mainly reflected in political sociology and sociology in methodology. The book discusses the typical sociological issues such as township life and democratic institutions, democracy and citizen society, and the relationship between democratic system and individual citizens. Tocqueville has made good contributions to sociology methodology. His approaches of interview and comparative research are still widely used in today＇s sociology research. Accordingly, we should attach great importance to Tocqueville＇s contribution to the field of sociology.
