陈望道的《修辞学发凡》对“修辞立其诚”的理解——兼评王希杰与霍四通的争论

摘　　要：王希杰对霍四通的批评未击中要害,霍的要害是混淆了事实判断和价值判断。陈望道《修辞学发凡》并未抛弃和忽视"修辞立其诚"原则,而是在引论中表明他处处都贯通着这一原则,如他把修辞定义为"调整语辞使达意传情能够适切的一种努力",修辞要"以‘意与言会,言随意遣’为极致",并认为"修辞以适应题旨情境为第一义",这都是"修辞立其诚"的体现。但他并没有自觉地意识到这一点,而且在多处地方用西方的修辞理论遮蔽了自己的真正立场,导致了一些文化错位。Wang Xijie’s criticism of Huo Sotong didn’t hit home.Huo’s problem is his confusion of the judgment between the reality and the value.Chen Wangdao’s Introduction to Rhetoric was not a betrayal of the principle of 'pen speaks my mind'.Instead it claimed in the preface that this principle could be found throughout the book.However,he himself who was unaware of this hid his real position when he employed the western rhetoric theories,which has led to the cultural mismatch.
