摘　　要：本文简要介绍了1969年起在北美设立的11个智识自由奖项的获奖对象及获奖缘由,详细介绍了三个在图书馆实践领域以不同方式捍卫智识自由权利取得杰出成效的获奖案例,以理解北美地区智识自由和图书馆权利观念、体系和保护机制之先进性。本文认为,图书馆智识自由奖项是图书馆界维护智识自由的一种行动,北美图书馆智识自由奖项作为一种智识自由权利保护机制,实现了其权利保护功能,其获奖案例的多样性也反映了北美智识自由观念的深入人心以及智识自由体系的广泛和包容。图1。表1。参考文献24。Using the method of historical research, this paper analyzes 11 intellectual freedom awards issued in North Amer- ica since 1969 on gainers and award-gaining masons. Then it pictures three typical and different cases of the intellectual freedom awards gainers concerned library practice. From which, the advanced concept, the system and the protecting mechanism can be observed. It is concluded that the intellectual freedom award is one of the actions of the terrain of librarianship to protect intel- lectual freedom and as well as being such a protecting mechanism, the diversity of the cases of gainers also showing these 11 in- tellectual freedom awards of North America win support among the people and have a universality and comprehensiveness con- tent. 1 fig. 1 tab. 24 refs.
