Lab experiment study on steam injection is carried out in view of the high pressure in steam injection in wells of Fuyu Oilfield. The mineral content of diagenetic kaolinite, the reaction products of giagenetic kaolinite and water under different steam temperatures, the damage caused by smectite, the reaction product of kaolinite and high temperature water,to formation, etc are analyzed. It is found in the experiment that the content of smectite in the core increases from 0 to 30% after keeping the core in static status for 120h under the temperature of 300℃,however,the content of kaolinite in the core decreases from 90% to 60%.During steam injection,speed-sensitivity resulting from the greater steam injection rate than water injection rate causes partially formation damage and water-sensitivity resulting from the smectite caused by the chemical reaction under high temperature also partially causes formation damage. The damages cause the increase in injection pressure from 4MPa to 6MPa rapidly to 9.5MPa,which surpasses formation fracturing pressure. The study also shows that the main reason for high steam injection pressure is the high content of diagenetic kaolinite in the reservoir sandstone of Fuyu Oilfield.
