Objective To investigate the effect of Zhulian Yin on intestinal motility in rats with functional dyspepsia and its mechanism. Methods SD rats were randomized into normal group model group, Zhulian Yin group and eisapride group, 10 rats in each one. Gastroelectric dysrhythmias model was duplicated in rats. After drug intervention, dextran blue-2000 was used as gastrointestinal marker to observe the changes of gastrointestinal transit rate. Changes in motilin, somatostatin contents in peripheral blood and distributions of duodenal were determined. Results Compared with the normal control group, the gastrointestinal transit rate reduced significantly in rats (P 〈 0.05). The plasma MOT in peripheral blood and distributions of duodenal were decreased significantly and the SST level elevated significantly (P 〈 0.01). Zhulian Yin promoted the gastrointestinal transit rate apparently in modeled rats(P 〈 0.05), the plasma MOT in peripheral blood and distributions of duodenal were significantly higher and the SST level significantly lower(P 〈 0.05). ConclusionZhulian Yin can improve intestinal motility of rats with functional dyspepsia, which may be related to the increased the plasma MOT in peripheral blood and distributions of duodenal and reduced the SST level.
