摘 要:关于古代中国推进船舰的风帆技术,前人已有的论述皆默认其为独立起源,但并未对这一假定给出过任何证明。本文通过考证地中海-南亚商船与两汉时期中国接触的记载,将其与汉末魏初关于风帆的记载作对比,并分析汉代中西人员、物资交流规模,以及域外与汉地造船能力的落差,提出一种新的观点,认为汉末魏初中国帆船的出现极可能是受外来影响的结果——两汉时期的中西交流或远远超出一般想象,重新审视这段历史具有重要意义。There have been a variety of discussions on the origin of sails in ancient China, all taking its independence for granted. However this bold assumption has not yet been proved in any way. By checking history records on contacts between foreign ships and China in the Han Dynasty and comparing them with the ambiguous descriptions on sails in the Late Han and Early Wei Dynasty, as well as analyzing the gap between the scale of people and goods exchange and the capability of ship-building in China in the Han Dynasty, a new theory is proposed which argues that the emergence of sales in the Late Han and Early Wei Dynasty may well be a result of foreign influence. The communications between China and the West in the Han Dynasty might go well beyond the general imagination, which needs to be reexamined.
