摘　　要：文章就网络环境下编目工作现状、存在的问题以及面临的挑战进行了分析,提出编目员的未来职责应向从事元数据编目、书目数据维护和整合处理、参与培训和管理工作四个方面发展。The author of this article makes analysis of the present situation, existing problems, and challenges faced by the catalogers under the environment of network, and holds that the future duty of the catalogers should be engaged in the following four jobs： cataloging work of metadata, maintenance and integration of the bibliographic data and participating in the training and management work.
