摘　　要："唯我独尊"在词典中的解释基本上都是形容"佛的尊贵"或"狂妄自大者",但这些解释尚不够准确和完备。本文探讨了"唯我独尊"的来源,分析了该词的语义流变,以期进一步完善对该词意义的认识。Basically, the term ＂Exalt only Ones Own Self （wei wo du zun）＂ is mainly used for describing the respect of the Buddha or the arrogance of people based on the explanation in dictionaries. But those explanations are not accurate and complete enough. For the rea- son, we investigate the origin of ＂wei wo du zun＂, analyze its semantic changes, to further our understanding of its meaning.
