摘 要:20世纪五六十年代,美国各大城市掀起了大规模以拆除贫民窟、重塑中心城市为目的的城市更新运动。大拆大建的城市更新运动虽然使城市焕然一新,却也造成了很多问题,引起民众强烈的不满。在城市更新运动的背景下,纽约苏荷区的市民积极参与到城市的发展规划中,自发形成多个团体,组织多种活动,反对政府主导的城市更新方案,在市民的积极参与下,纽约苏荷区走出了一条以艺术家为主导的绅士化之路。In the 1950s and 1960s, American cities set off a large-scale urban renewal movement in order to remove the slums and revitalize the central city. This movement made the central city brand-new, but it also caused many problems which made citizens dissatisfied strongly. In the context of the urban renewal movement, the SoHo citizens of New York actively participated in urban development planning, formed spontaneously multiple ment-led urban renewal programs. With the active participation artist-dominated road of the gentrification. groups, and organized a variety of activities against the govern-ment-led urban renewal programs. With the active participation of the citizens, the SoHo district of New York went out of an artist-dominated road of the gentrification.
