摘　　要：长河小说发端于19世纪末期的法国，在罗曼·罗兰手中臻于成熟，深入发展了19世纪末的现实主义文学传统。长河小说也传到了中国。李劫人小说和台湾的“大河小说”是长河小说两种发展了的特殊存在形式。新时期以来，文坛上出现了许多冠以“长河小说”名目的作品，如何从中分辨良莠、识别真正的长河小说，并进行客观评价，是对这个文学术语的正本清源，也是对现阶段中国文学责任性的审视。Roman-fleuve originated in France in the late nineteenth Century. The writer Romain Rolland is a master of this literary genre. Roman-fleuve promoted the development of realism in the end of the nineteenth century. Roman-fleuve also spread to China. Li Jieren＇s novels and Dahe Novels in Taiwan are the special forms of the roman-fleuve. Since 1980s, there have been many so-called roman-fleuves that are actually not. It is necessary to identify which is the real roman-fleuve and to eval- uate it for the prosperity of Chinese literature.
