摘　　要：大学理念的建构实质上反映了"认识论"和"政治论"两种哲学观的争斗。"认识论"强调大学的内部功能,认为大学主要是保存、传授和发展高深学问。政治论强调大学的社会功能,大学不仅为自己未来的生活服务,还要为民主社会服务,为民主国家服务!在实用主义和功利主义泛滥的今天",认识论"应该是大学的最高目标,真理应该是大学的最高追求!The construction of university ideas reflects the philosophic struggle between ＂epistemology＂ and ＂political the ory＂ in essence. ＂Epistemology＂ emphasizes the internal function of the university and considers university is primarily to preserve, impart and develop advanced knowledge. Political theory emphasizes the social function of university and insists that university should not only serve for its life in the future, but also for democratic society and for democratic country! Now adays pragmatism and utilitarianism is in flood, so ＂epistemology＂ should be the highest aim of university and the truth should be the highest pursuit of university!
