摘　　要：西部地区地域辽阔、资源丰富,是少数民族的聚居地区。西部地区的社会稳定与国家发展关系密切。文章从促进经济发展、保持边疆安宁和维护祖国统一、构建地区和谐民族关系、全面建成小康社会宏伟目标、维护国家的政治稳定等方面论述了西部社会稳定与国家发展的关系。Abstract：the western region is vast and rich in resources, where is minority inhabit a region. Close social stability and national development of Western region. This paper discusses the relationship between the social stability and national development from the aspects of promoting economic development, maintaining the peace and unity of the motherland, construction of regional harmonious ethnic relations, fully completed the grand goal of well - off socie- ty, safeguarding the country＇s political stability.
