摘　　要：介绍了《卡特著者号码表》在西文文献编目使用中应注意的事项,对如何避免重号问题提出了解决思路,提出了在网络环境下对该表进行扩展的建议,使该表的使用更加标准、规范。This paper introduces some matters needing attention in Western literature cataloguing by using Cutter＇ s Author Number Table, puts forward some solutions for avoiding the duplicate number, and presents some suggestions on expanding Cutter＇ s Author Number Table under the network environment in order to make its use more standardized and normalized.
