摘　　要：轮机英语属科技英语类型,专业性较强,翻译必须准确简练,尤其是形容词的翻译不应着眼于修辞的生动性,而应注重其形象性和准确性。从形容词的概念分析入手,结合轮机英语的教学实践,简要分析介绍形容词在句子中所起作用及一般译法,具体分析前置形容词、后置形容词和表语形容词的译法。Marine engineering English belongs to scientific English with great professional. So we need be concise and correct in translation, especially the translation of adjectives should not focus on the vivid modification but put emphasis on the figurativeness and correctness. From the conception of the adjective, combine with the teaching practice of the English for engineer, briefly introduced the function of the adjective in the sentences and general translation, particularly analyzed the translation of the front adjectives, rear adjectives and predicative adjectives.
