摘　　要：通过分析霍桑短篇小说《自我主义;或心底之蛇》中"蛇"的隐喻义,聚焦于作者的罪恶观,并阐释这种罪恶存在的根源、危害及其救赎良方。By analyzing the metaphorical image of ＂serpent＂ in The Egotism ; or Bosom Serpent, this paper focuses on Hawthorne＇ s idea about sins, and tries to illuminate the root of the sins as well as its harm and the salvation.
