摘　　要：Down in Guizhou Province, nestling among the tree-clad hills of Shuangjiang r Village, Liping County, stands the stockade village of Huanggang. It is inhabited by Dong people, and their＂Praying-to-God＂ Festival is held there every year on the 15th day of the sixth moon, when they slaughter cattle to worship Heaven. ＂Praying-to-God＂ was originally a traditional ritual to invoke rain, but it has become a merry festive get-together.
