摘　　要：弗兰纳里·奥康纳在小说中刻画了一群在社会变迁中丧失了财产和地位的南方白人,他们的生活出现了强烈的失落和错位,精神上经历着痛楚和不安;他们选择怀旧的方式来寻找安全感,通过今昔对比表达他们对当下社会的批评。这种美化过去生活、消极反抗现实的处世态度使得他们的生存日益边缘化,有时甚至还会引发极为惨重的后果。对那些恋旧之人近乎荒唐的言行举止,奥康纳进行了善意的嘲讽;怀旧是一种普世的体验,奥康纳的嘲讽和规劝具有超越时空的启迪意义。Flannery O＇ Connor portrays in her fiction a group of Southerners who have lost their property and position and whose lives brim with a strong sense of loss and dislocation. Undergoing spiritual agony and unrest, they seek security in the nostalgic feelings and express their criticism on the contemporary society by contrasting the past with the present. The outlook of better past and worse present on life leads them to a more marginalized status of existence, and sometimes even brings about an extremely horrific consequence. O＇Connor satirizes those nostalgic people for their absurd words and deeds in a kindly manner. Nostalgia has a universal experience, and therefore O＇Connor＇s satire and persuasion are enlightening beyond the boundaries of time and space.
