摘　　要：《在笼中》是亨利·詹姆斯利用科学技术批判大众文化并进行现代主义小说实验的一部重要作品。在詹姆斯看来,基于科学技术的叙事策略有助于建构一个独立于商品内在逻辑的中心意识,使得现代主义小说免受大众消费文化的影响。本文将从技术主体批判、小说阅读习惯和现代主义小说实验等三个方面入手,以探讨亨利·詹姆斯如何用电报化叙事手段来创作有别于维多利亚时期传统文学的现代主义小说。For Henry James, narrative innovations central consciousness independent of the logic of mass modernist fiction and telegraph is not only based on technologies are capable of creating a culture which has threatened both the status of the existence of modern subjects. In his novel In the Cage, the technology of a tool of making a critique of technological subjectivities and the habit of novel consumption, but also an important way to experiment with modernist novel-writing. This paper attempts to make a study of the techniques Henry James adopted in In the Cage to create a novel distinct from the Victorian realist fiction.
