The fiscal cliff is the concentrated expression of the serious unbalance of American financial revenue in recent years, which is rooted in American economic policy failures and deficiency of endogenous force of economic growth. In essence, It is the continuing deterioration of American sovereign debt under the background of the global financial crisis. The fiscal cliff will postpone the economic recovery of the US and the world, cause the monetization of fiscal deficits in major developed countries, increase volatility in global financial markets and make the developing countries facing increasingly severe international trading environment. China should learn a lesson from this and take a series of positive measures to lay a solid foundation for the sustainable development of its national economy.
