摘 要:山本北山《作诗志彀》虽然参考了钱谦益《列朝诗集》中的记事,但其对袁宏道性灵说的介绍和理解并非依据后者,在重要观点的阐述上数次直接暗引袁宏道诗论语句,这表明他确曾认真阅读过袁宏道的相关著作。在书中,北山还别出机杼地引入"清新"这一概念与"性灵"并举以概括性灵说的整体美学特征。不过,山本北山倡导性灵说,排斥古文辞派的本质是其在现实政治中无法遂愿的经世济民抱负和士大夫式的使命感在文艺领域的投射,而古文辞派的拟古主义文学违背了其理想中的"经济有用"这一准则。Although Hokuzan Yamamoto's Sakushishikou refers to some biographies in Qian Qianyi's Anthology of Ming Poetry,his understanding of Yuan Hongdao's xingling theory is not based on the latter.In fact,Yuan Hongdao's words are cited indirectly to expound some important views in Sakushishikou,which indicates that Hokuzan has perused Yuan Hongdao's writings.In Sakushishikou,Hokuzan put a new concept of qingxin(freshness) on a par with xingling(spirit) in an attempt to summarize aesthetic characteristics of xingling theory.Hokuzan's motivation for advocating xingling theory and denouncing the Ancient Rhetoric school is that the Ancient Rhetoric school's archaism violates the principle of 'being useful in statecraft',so it can be said that his literary activities is the mapping of his unrealizable political ambition onto the field of art.
