摘　　要：提出了一个基于网络的数字视频监控系统 ,该系统具有视频压缩、解码、网络传输、图像储存、图像索引回放、摄像机远程控制和图像内容报警等功能 .因采用了基于视频硬件压缩芯片以及快速以太网技术 。The key technology of digital video surveillance System is discussed,including compression stardard,transmission channel and bandwidth,transmission protocol.A digital video surveillance system based on fast Ethernet is proposed then.It comprises functions of video coding and decoding,network transmission,video storage and playback,vidicon remote control,alarm by motion detection.It adopts video coding by hardware and fast Etnernet techineques,so its picture quality and frame rate are far better than those systems based on PSTN and video coding by software.
