摘　　要：伊拉·纳代尔,加拿大皇家学会院士、英属哥伦比亚大学英语系教授,主要研究传记文学、现代主义,撰写了多位作家的专著或传记以及传记研究专著《传记:小说、内容与形式》。2011年10月,纳代尔应邀在上海参加"消费文化语境中的文学研究"国际论坛期间,接受了李锋博士的专访。在访谈中,纳代尔教授阐述了传记的本质,梳理了传记与历史、事实与真实、历史真实性与叙事真实性之间的复杂关系。他认为传记作品应致力于叙事真实性而非历史真实性,生平的讲述方式与生平中的具体细节同等重要。此外,他还预测新媒体的出现将使未来传记文学的表现形式更趋多样化、更具互动性。Ira B. Nadel is Professor of English at the University of British Columbia and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Specializing in biography and Modernism, he has published numerous books, including many monographs on and biographies of authors, as well as a monograph on the art of writing biography itself Biography： Fiction, Fact ＆ Form. In October, 2011, during his stay in Shanghai for the international forum on ＂Literary Studies in the Context of Consumer Culture,＂ Prof. Nadel received an interview from Li Feng, Associate Professor of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. In the interview, Prof. Nadel explores the nature of biography and clarifies the relationship between biography and history, fact and truth, and historical truth and narrative truth. He argues that biography should develop narrative truth, rather than historical truth, and how a life is told is as important as the details of that life. Besides, he believes that New Media will make future biography more diversified and interactive in form.
