奥尼尔悲剧的互文性解读

摘　　要：尤金.奥尼尔是获得诺贝尔文学奖的第一个美国剧作家,一生完成近五十部剧作,其中主要是悲剧。奥尼尔剧作对美国文学,尤其是对世界戏剧艺术的发展产生了深远的影响。国内读者和批评家对其研究的论文不胜枚举,但大多从悲剧角度进行分析以及探索其创作技巧。本文运用互文性理论重新解读和诠释其悲剧作品。具体地讲,从对奥尼尔作品中的互文性解读入手,结合互文性理论,分析奥尼尔的悲剧作品与古典悲剧、现代悲剧的互文性。通过审视其互文关系,揭示奥尼尔悲剧文本与古典悲剧、现代悲剧间的相互指涉和意义关联,为阐释奥尼尔的悲剧作品提供一个新的角度。Eugene O＇ Neill ,the first American dramatist to have won the Nobile Prize for Literature, completed about 50 plays, mainly tragedies. His works have had a far-reaching influence on American literature as well as on the development of drama in the world. Numerous research papers on his dramas can be found in China but most of them are on the analysis of tragedy and the ex- ploration of his creative skills. This paper attempts to reinterpret O＇ Neill＇ s works with the theory of intertextuality, a text theory in cultural ideological trend of contemporary Western post-modernism, which is put forward by Julia Kristeva （1941）, the contemporary French famous literary theorist, in 1967 for the first time. By applying the theory of intertextuality, the paper makes an analysis of the relevance of Eugene O＇ Neill＇ s works to classical and modern tragedies and their mutual referential meaning to provide, so as a new angle of interpretation of Eugene O＇ Neill＇ s works.
