摘　　要：《华西教会新闻》是20世纪上半期西方传教士在中国西部经营的一份英文报刊。刊物最初的宗旨是:面向华西传教士出版,由传教士撰稿和管理,为传教士提供交流信息、交换观点的平台。随着时代的演变,刊物办刊宗旨和方针从为传教士服务扩展到为中国基督教发展提供思想交流平台;读者对象逐步囊括懂英文的中国人士,作者范围也扩大到能以英文读写的中国基督徒。这一变化与中国本土教会的发展和中国基督徒文人的成长相呼应,是了解四川基督教发展的一个侧面。The West China Missionary News is an English magazine issued by missionaries in western china in the first half of 20' century.Its original aim is being a media published for and managed by western missionaries,for exchanging information and views.With times going by,the purpose and management principle of this magazine change from serving the work of missionaries to serving the development of Chinese Christianity;more Chinese readers and contributors gradually appear.These changes echoes with the development of Chinese churches and Chinese Christians.This paper attempts to analyze the changes of management principle and contributors of this newspaper,in order to investigate the indigenization of Christianity in Sichuan area.
