摘　　要：在清朝末年、民国时期和新中国成立初期这三个阶段,我们在学习和借鉴西方大学办学模式以建构中国现代大学的过程中,对作为西方大学基本学术价值观的学术自由理念,从选择性舍弃,到积极借鉴和实验,再到主动驱逐,经历了曲折的发展历程,深入分析造成这一曲折历程背后的学术文化原因,对于我们今天创办具有中国特色的世界一流大学,具有重要的借鉴和启示意义。This paper explores in depth the process and the cultural reason why we lost the concept of academic freedom, one of the basic academic values of the Western universities, we learn from the Western University to construct the Chinese modern university during the following three periods of the late years of the Qing Dynasty,the Republic of China and the early years of New China.
