摘　　要：马修.阿诺德在其文化批评生涯中借用了诸如"非利士""超然无执""甜蜜与光明"等术语,这种"拿来主义"用意甚为深刻。他借用"非利士"抨击了中产阶级的物质崇拜症;用"超然无执"批评了维多利亚人狭隘的阶级观念;用"甜蜜与光明"阐明了在一个物质至上的社会中培养人文素质的重要性。In Matthew Arnold＇s critical career,he takes such terms as ＂Philistine＂,＂Disinterestedness＂ and ＂Sweet and Light＂,but his ＂Copying Doctrine＂ has a deep intention.He takes ＂Philistine＂ to criticize material worship of the middle class,＂Disinterestedness＂ to criticize Victorians＇ narrow sense of classes and ＂Sweet and Light＂ to interpret the importance of cultivation of humanistic quality in a material-oriented society.
