全光3R系统再生能力的测试方法研究

摘  要:3R(re-amplification,re-shaping,re-timing)再生是高速率光纤通信系统的一个关键技术。为科学评价3R系统的再生能力,对基于色散位移光纤(DSF)中的四波混频(FWM)效应的全光3R系统的性能进行了测试,得到了输入-输出信号Q值的特性曲线,由此可以得到3R再生系统的再生范围(可再生输入信号的最小输入Q值和最大输出Q值)、最大再生能力等信息,从而达到合理地在线路中设置3R再生系统。结果表明,对于此全光3R再生系统,对输入Q值在2.6~5.8的恶化信号具有再生能力,并且在输入信噪比(SNR)为3.2时可以得到最大的SNR改善为1.1。The 3R (re-amplification, re-shaping, re-timing) regeneration is one of the key technologies for the high speed optical communication systems. How to set the 3R regeneration system in the transmis- sion line more reasonably and more efficiently might need to be solved in the high-speed system. There is a regenerative capacity for any regeneration system,and the regenerative capacity varies with input sig- nals. So for the signal with a specific deterioration,testing the regenration effect cannot describe the re- generation capacity of the 3R system. Changing the deterioraton of the input signal, we can get the regen- erative capacity of the 3R regeneration system,which is decided by the minimum input Q value and the maximum input Q value, and the maximum regenerative capacity. In this paper, the regenerative curve for a 40 Gbit/s 3R regeneration system is shown,which is based on four-wave mixing in a dispersion shifted fiber (DSF). This all-optical 3R regeneration system can regenerate the degraded signals with a Q value ranging from 2.6 to 5.8. The maximum improvement of the signal to noise ratio (SNR) is 1.1 when the input SNR is 3.2.
