摘　　要：《鸽翼》讲述了主人公米莉·西奥尔、默顿·丹什和凯蒂·克罗伊三人的感情纠葛,通过人物之间心理、经济、社会和情感的复杂关系,揭示了人类生存困境的深奥道理。本文尝试从不同的审美视角,发掘小说中沉寂、死亡和永生的深刻主题内涵,解读其丰富多彩的思想内容和经久不衰的艺术魅力。The Wings of the Dove tells about the romantic entanglements of Milly Theale, Kate Croy and Merton Densher. Through the complexity of psychic, economic, societal, and emotional relations among the characters, it re- veals the profound truth about human predicament. From different perspectives of aesthetics, this article attempts to ex- plore the connotation of the basic themes silence, death and eternity in the novel, and interpret its rich ideological con- tents and enduring artistic charm.
