摘　　要：文艺复兴时期西欧图书馆的兴盛是多种因素共同作用的结果。经济方面,中世纪后期商品经济的发展迫切需要知识技能的支持和保障,城市居民的知识需求在某种程度上也刺激了图书馆的兴起;文化技术交流方面,阿拉伯翻译运动和拜占庭学者的西迁促进了知识的传播和生成,中国的造纸术和印刷术功不可没;思想方面,具有人文主义思想的学者、富商、教皇等也起到了无可替代的作用。这些都为文艺复兴时期西欧图书馆的兴盛提供了良好的背景条件。The prosperity of the Western European library was the result of many kinds of factors. In the economy, the development of commodity economy needed knowledge and skills very urgently in the late medieval European society; the demand of urban residents stimulated the emergence of the library in some degree. In culture and technology, the Arabic translation movement and the west migration of Byzantine scholars promoted the dis- semination and generation of knowledge in those days, and the Chinese Papermaking and Printing played an important role in that time. In the thought, the scholars, the pope and the rich who have humanism thought played an irreplaceable role in that. All these provided a favorable environment for the prosperity of Western European library.
