摘 要:本文介绍了澳大利亚开发3种斑皮桉和托里桉杂交种的情况,讨论了种植纯种斑皮桉的限制因素如缺少大量开花、易感染真菌导致萌芽枯萎,从而导致难于无性繁殖,因此需要加强杂交种的育种和测试计划。很多杂交种在生长和病虫害及霜冻抗性方面有明显的优势,并且能进行无性系繁殖。与斑皮桉相比,它们具有很广的环境适应性,因此会有更多的立地可被用来发展人工林。This paper described the development of a hybrid breeding program for selected Corymbia species,including C.citriodora var.variegata and C.torelliana,in Australia.Also discussed the constraints to cultivation of plantations with pure Corymbia species,such as lack of massflowering,susceptibility to fungal shoot blight and difficulty of vegetative propagation.Such constraints led research efforts in Australia to focus on an intensive cross-breeding and testing program.Most of the manipulated hybrids have good advantages in terms of growth,resistance todisease,insects and frost,and are relatively easy to propagate vegetatively.The hybrids also have better environmental plasticity than most pure species of Corymbia.Thus,these manipulated hybrids have distinct advantages for commercial plantation establishment as they are adaptable to a wider range of sites.
