摘　　要：英语名词短语的多项前置定语是指在英语名词短语的语法条件下,两个或两个以上的修饰语置于中心语名词之前的语言现象。多项前置定语的排列顺序不仅有句法研究意义,而且具有语义、语用方面的研究价值,研究者可以运用X标杆理论、语义聚合理论和顺序像似性对多项前置定语的排列进行分析、探讨。研究名词短语的多项前置定语在中英文翻译、第二语言教学、跨文化交际等方面都具有一定的指导作用。Multiple pre-modifiers of English noun phrases refer to the linguistic phenomena that long sequential pre-modifications take place in the syntactical conditions of English noun phrases.Multiple pre-modifiers of English noun phrases are not only endowed with syntactic meanings,but they are also meaningful semantically and pragmatically.Researchers may study the sequencing of multiple pre modifiers by using X-bar theory,paradigmatic relations and sequential iconicity.This study may be helpful to guiding the English –Chinese translation of complex proper names.
