摘　　要：美国情报高级研究计划署于2011年启动"隐喻项目",该项目以概念隐喻理论为基础,研究英语、波斯语、俄语和西班牙语中的隐喻使用,以期洞悉语言所隐含的意识形态和文化观念,并开发隐喻自动分析软件"隐喻机器",以协助未来情报分析工作。从研究背景、理论框架和研究过程三方面评述了该项目,并分析了该项目对我国相关研究的启示。The recent ＂Metaphor Program＂ launched by IARPA in 2011, based on the Conceptual Metaphor Theory, intends to study metaphor use in English, Farsi, Russian and Spanish in order to explore the ideologies and cultural beliefs underlying language use, to de： velop the automatic metaphor analysis software ＂Metaphor Machine＂ , and to facilitate American intelligence analysts. The paper reviews the program in terms of its research background, theoretical framework and research process. Moreover, it also discusses the implications of the program.
