摘　　要：哈奈·吉奥加玛是一位著名的美国印第安戏剧家,二十世纪七十年代美国印第安文艺复兴时期他在戏剧领域起着主导作用。为了重建与传统文化的联系,他将本土歌曲、话语、舞蹈、宗教意象等等并入《49》的框架之中。通过分析宗教意象隐藏的内涵,试探索戏剧中潜在的美国印第安宗教文化的丰富与魅力,进一步揭示吉奥加玛运用这些意象的意图。As a well - known American Indian playwright, Hanay Geiogamah plays a leading role in the theatrical realm during the period of Native American Renaissance in the 1970s. In order to rebuild connection with traditional cultures, he incorporates native songs, words, dances and religious images etc. into the structure of the drama 49. Through analyzing the seemingly meaningless religious images, this paper tries to reveal American Indian＇s re- ligious and cultural charm and richness embedded in the play and to further explore C, eiogamah＇s intention of em- ploying these images.
