摘　　要：美国对华贸易缘起于美国商船“中国皇后”号通航广州。那时，广州口岸已有悠久的对外贸易的历史。第一批到来的美国人，不得不探索一种新的方式处理对华商务和人际关系。American trade with China originates from the voyage of the American merchant ship Empress of China to Guangzhou. At that time, the Guangzhou port already had a long history of foreign trade. The American late corners had to find a new way of dealing with commercial and inter-personal relations with the Chinese.
