摘　　要：提出并阐述了"文献发现"理论,对"文献发现"的方法体系进行了探讨;阐述了"文献发现"理论的意义,认为"文献发现"是当代图书馆新的社会职能和核心竞争力,因此,该理论的提出将推动馆藏建设理论和图书馆职能理论研究的进一步发展,并给出了一个哲社类学术文献发现的案例。This paper presents and explains the theory of ＇literature discovery＇, and makes discussion on its methodology. Further, it expounds the significance of ＇literature discovery＇ theory, which is the new social role and core competitiveness of contemporary library. The proposal of this theory will promote the collection- building theory and the further development of theoretical research on library functions. This paper also gives an example of ＇literature discovery＇ regarding the philosophy and social science literature.
