从台湾公费生到图书馆学家——杨威理先生图书馆生涯及学术贡献考略  

On Yang Weili's Library Career and His Contributions to Academy: From a Taiwan Residents Student on Public Scholarship to a Library Scientist

摘　　要：杨威理先生精通多种外语,早年到日本留学攻读医学,1946年回台后以台湾公费生入北京大学学习。期间受进步思想影响,投笔从戎参加革命,其少年就遵循父亲教诲,立志成为中国大政治家、外交官的他,却当了40年中共中央马恩列斯著作编译局图书馆馆长,建立了一所藏书近百万册、亚洲最大的社会主义史文献的图书馆。从理论与实践上进行了不懈的探索和实践,尤其对马列主义经典著作目录学和西方图书馆史的研究,取得了丰硕成果。推动了图书馆各项事业持续发展,成为著述数百万字的学人,重要的图书馆学家。Yang Weili has several foreign languages at his fingertips. He studied medicine in Japan in his early years, and later in 1946 he entered Beijing University as a Taiwan Residents student on public scholarship. During this period he renounced the pen for the sword, influenced by progressive ideas. Followed his father＇s instructions he aspired to be a great statesman and diplomat in childhood. Nevertheless, he established Asia＇s largest library with a collection of nearly one million in socialist history documents and became the dean of the library of the CPC Central Compilation and Translation Bureau. He made great progress in the bibilography of Marxism-Leninism classical works and the history of Western library.
